(Batesville, Ind.) - A Batesville woman is in jail accused of drug possession. So is a second Batesville woman.
The first arrest happened on Sunday, August 4 when Batesville Police executed a search warrant at the Hillenbrand Avenue residence of Samantha Siegle. Inside the home officers found hypodermic syringes and heroin.
Siegle was not home at the time of the search. She was taken into custody on Friday, August 9 in Batesville. Siegle faces charges of Possession of a Hypodermic Needle and Possession of a Controlled Substance, both class D felonies.
A second woman was arrested early in the morning on Sunday, August 11. Batesville Police stopped a vehicle on State Road 46 for a traffic violation.
A K9 officer indicated the presence of drugs in the vehicle. Officers searched and found heroin, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.
The driver, Jocelyn Hunter, 34, has been slapped with charges including Possession of Controlled Substance (Class D felony) , Possession of Marijuana (Class A misdemeanor), and Reckless Possession of Paraphernalia (Class A misdemeanor).
Hunter and Siegle were each incarcerated at the Ripley County Jail.
