Tree Sponsorships Available for Light Up Newtown Park

Join in on the holiday fun and decorate a tree to light up Newtown Park.

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - This year, Dearborn County Historical Society (DCHS) is asking for 200 sponsors from Dearborn County for their Memorial Christmas Tree Program Light Up Newtown Park in historic Newtown Park, along Eads Parkway.

Families, organizations, businesses, and not-for-profit organizations can sponsor a tree in memory of their organization or an individual.

DCHS will provide the tree, Christmas lights and an identification sign that will be placed at the base of your tree. The group will then be allowed to decorate the tree following the guidelines below. Trees will be placed throughout beautiful Newtown Park in Lawrenceburg mid-November and a lighting ceremony.

This event is limited to 200 trees and applications will be accepted on a first-come first-serve basis. The cost to participate in this program is $125 to cover the cost of the tree, lights and signage. Trees will be placed in Newtown City Park with lights on or around November 20 for groups/families to begin decorating.

Light Up Newtown Park will take place on Saturday, December 6 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Festivities include:

  • 5:00 PM - Wells of Love Ministry worship team will sing contemporary Christmas music
  • 5:30 PM - Prayer from Wells of Love Pastor Shane Goodpastor
  • 5:45 PM - DCHS, the Mayor, and Main Street will light the trees
  • 5:50 PM - Wells of Love Ministry worship team will sing
