(Batesville, Ind.) - The Sherman would like to announce and invite everyone to the Grand Opening Ribbon Cutting Event for the newly constructed Sherman Biergarten located at 16 E. George Street in Batesville around the corner from the main entrance of The Sherman. The event will be held on Friday, September 8. The Sherman Biergarten will open at 3:00 pm, the ceremony will start at 4:30 pm and Derek Foster will begin performing at 6:00 pm. “Everyone is invited to attend this event, help us celebrate this important milestone in The Sherman renovations over the past 18 months and stay on for live music, German sausage, pretzel and other food and beverages,” invited Peyton Hughes. The Biergarten is fashioned to resemble Biergartens found in Germany and also to be a place for friends and family including children to spend quality time together. The Sherman, formerly The Sherman House, is a historic hotel and restaurant located in Batesville, Indiana. The property consists of a hotel, restaurant, bar and biergarten. Renovations by HPH Hospitality LLC in 2016-2017 have sought to strengthen and extend the German character throughout the building and reestablish The Sherman as a central facility of commerce, travel and social life.
