(Vevay, Ind.) - Temporary signals will control traffic on State Road 56 near Vevay, starting on or after Thursday, July 6, in Switzerland County as Indiana Department of Transportation contractor RAM Construction Services completes bridge pier patching.
Work will take place at the S.R. 56 bridge over Indian Creek, located approximately one mile west of S.R. 129. The bridge will be reduced to one lane with temporary traffic signals. The project is expected to be complete at this location by the end of July.
The contract was awarded to RAM Construction Services in January for $250,000. The contract also includes two additional projects in Monroe and Harrison Counties. INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, avoid distractions, and consider worker safety when traveling through active construction zones. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
