Sunman Residents Vote to Determine Councilmembers, Clerk Treasurer

Fifty-two residents voted at the Town Convention on Saturday.

(Sunman, Ind.) – Fifty-two Town of Sunman residents exercised their right to vote on Saturday.

The Town Convention, also known as the Town Election, was held at the Sunman Legion Post 337 to determine three Town Council seats and Clerk Treasurer.

The special election was held because no Democrats signed up to run.

Current council members Carol Eckstein and Don Foley retained their seats, while Randall Zins took the third and final council seat. David Laine was removed from the race because he didn’t vote in the 2022 primary, making him ineligible to run.

Cheryl Taylor will continue serving as Clerk Treasurer, defeating challenger Nancy Dobson 42-10.
