More exciting improvements are coming to Sunman-Dearborn Schools.

(St. Leon, Ind.) – The Sunman-Dearborn Community School board received an update on Phase 2 of the Building Project at the August 8 meeting.
The project will be an estimated total of $32.5 million in construction costs with nearly half of the cost for various necessary mechanical replacements and upgrades.
The upgrades include refurbishment of the Performing Art Center, the Trojan Café, indoor and outdoor learning spaces and some athletic facilities. The board developed a master plan several years ago in order to be able to complete both phases of the building project, without an increase to the property tax rate.
On the athletics front, the project calls for a new turf soccer field and a golf practice facility, which would be 116 yards by 56 yards, featuring two greens for chipping and putting and net driving bays.
Other upgrades include:
High School

- Creation of more stacking distance off the public roads
- Creation of direct pedestrian path from school to the parking lot without crossing traffic
