Stolen Vehicle Out of Carroll County Leads to Pursuit

(Carroll County, Ky.) - On Friday September 02, 2022 at approximately 1:18 am Kentucky State Police Post 5 in Campbellsburg received a call from Carroll County dispatch in reference to a vehicle stolen out of Carroll County. 

A short time later a KSP Post 5 Trooper observed the vehicle traveling on Interstate 71 in Henry County. The trooper activated his emergency equipment and attempted to initiate a traffic stop on the vehicle. The vehicle failed to stop and continued to travel north on Interstate 71. 

The pursuit continued through Carroll, Gallatin, and Boone counties. In Boone County the suspect vehicle struck one of the trooper's vehicle causing the trooper to go off the roadway. No one was injured during this incident.

The pursuit continued north on Interstate 71 then north onto Interstate 75. The pursuit was discontinued at the Ohio state line.

The investigation is currently ongoing by Kentucky State Police Troopers and authorities in Ohio.
