Lyness is expected to speak at the Pre-Legislative Luncheon in Lawrenceburg on Thursday.

INDIANAPOLIS - State Rep. Randy Lyness (R-West Harrison) recently received appointments to serve on three key House standing committees.

Lyness will serve as vice chair of the House Committee on Local Government, and as a member of the House Commerce, Small Business and Economic Development Committee, and the House Employment, Labor and Pensions Committee.

"Local governments have tremendous responsibilities as they serve Hoosiers in their communities, and I look forward to helping to lead this committee while also focusing on issues related to our economy and workforce," Lyness said. "This session will be very busy, and as we examine proposals for new laws, I encourage those in House District 68 to reach out to me with questions and their input."

House standing committee appointments are made by the Indiana House Speaker biennially after the November election and are in effect for the duration of members' two-year terms.

House lawmakers are scheduled to convene at 1:30 p.m. on Jan. 9 for the first day of the 2023 legislative session. Hoosiers can visit iga.in.gov to find legislation, view calendars, and watch committee meetings and session

Lyness encourages constituents to visit in.gov/h68 to sign up to receive e-newsletter updates about what’s happening at the Statehouse throughout the legislative session and beyond.
