(Versailles, Ind.) - In June, the South Ripley Community School Corporation announced that St. Elizabeth Healthcare and the Reds Community Fund selected South Ripley High School as the site of their next baseball field renovation project, marking the first time this impactful initiative will take place in southeastern Indiana.
On Monday, the South Ripley School Board approved Sprinturf to move forward with the installation of the turf infield.
A presentation from earlier this year shows that the new surface will feature:
- Complete infield with warning tracks and coaches boxes
- South Ripley logo
- Upgrade to natural turf outfield surface
- Service work on dugouts and press box
- Additional work (bullpens, audio, etc.) depending on budget and fundraising
Superintendent Rob Moorhead says the hope is to get the project going this fall and be able to play games on the new service in the spring of 2026.
