UPDATE: South Dearborn Announces Interim Superintendent

The school board also approved the sale of Manchester Elementary School on Tuesday night.

South Dearborn Community School Corporation has released the following statement regarding the superintendent change: 

The South Dearborn Community School Corporation has reached a mutually agreeable separation agreement with current Superintendent Dr. Ronald Ross.

The Board of Trustees and the school corporation thank Dr. Ross for his service, time, and contributions to South Dearborn and wish him the very best in his future endeavors.

The Board also extends its appreciation to the South Dearborn community for its patience and understanding as the parties worked toward this agreement.

Additionally, the Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Janet Platt as Interim Superintendent of the South Dearborn Community School Corporation. Dr. Platt will provide leadership and continuity for the school corporation during this transition.

The Board will begin the process of conducting a search for a permanent superintendent in the near future. Additional information regarding that process will be shared with the public as plans are finalized.

The South Dearborn Community School Corporation remains committed to providing strong leadership and maintaining its focus on the students, staff, families, and community it serves.

(Aurora, Ind.) - Ron Ross is out as the Superintendent of South Dearborn Community School Corporation. 

On Tuesday night, the South Dearborn School Board named Janet Platt as the interim Superintendent. 

The meeting was quick and no discussion was held on the change. More details are expected to be released on Wednesday morning. The move to an interim superintendent comes after the controversial suspension of Dillsboro Elementary School's principal. 

Another agenda item on Tuesday night included approving the sale of Manchester Elementary School.
