SDHS Students Qualify for BPA National Leadership Conference in Dallas

The school corporation is asking the business community to help get the students to Dallas.

(Aurora, Ind.) - Four students from South Dearborn High School have earned their way to the Business Professionals of America (BAP) National Leadership Conference.

South Dearborn had 10 students attend the State Leadership Conference in Indianapolis on March 13. Six of the students placed in the top ten in their business competitive events, including Will Dornbusch, Rebecca Hughes, Maria Townsend, and Rylee Thies.

Those four individuals will represent South Dearborn at the national competition in Dallas, Texas the week of May 4.

The South Dearborn Community School Corporation is asking businesses in the community to help get these students to Dallas through tax-deductible donations.

Additional fundraising will be done by each student, along with the SDHS Business Professionals of America Organization.

Each student must pay for their transportation to and from the event, their hotel room for four nights and their meals throughout their stay. Total cost is estimated at $950 per student.

The BPA student conference registration deadline is Tuesday, April 5.

Donations should be made payable to South Dearborn High School, and mailed to 5770 Highlander Place, Aurora, Indiana 47001, in care of Mrs. Kelly Pettit.
