Rising Sun Regional Foundation Awards Over $200K In Grants

A total of 13 organizations will benefit from the grant money.

(Rising Sun, Ind.) - The Rising Sun Regional Foundation (RSRF) awarded a total of $210,582 in 13 new grants in the third quarter of 2018. These grants included:

- $24,600 to Milan ’54 toward the development of a capital campaign;

 - $5,000 to Milan Summer Baseball to build a batting cage; 

 - $3,000 to Milan Community School Corporation toward the purchase of emergency trauma bags;

 - $10,000 to Milan Park Board toward the asphalt and paving of a basketball court at the Daren Baker Memorial Park; 

 - $31,150 to the City of Rising Sun to convert the lighting to LED in city-owned buildings plus parking lots and street lighting;

 - $5,000 to Osgood Public Library toward the replacement of computers at both library branches; 

 - $20,446 to Versailles Volunteer Fire Department for the purchase of two thermal imaging cameras;

 - $40,000 to Rising Sun Municipal Utilities toward the replacement of a Hydrogritter machine; 

 - $8,500 to Dearborn County Clearinghouse toward the purchase and installation of a new furnace and air conditioner;

 - $19,400 to the Town of Versailles toward the construction of a new storage facility at its Sports Complex;

 - $11,700 to Southeastern Indiana Recycling District toward the purchase of incineration units;

 - $21,671 to Children’s Advocacy Center of Southeastern Indiana toward the purchase of furnishings to create a child-friendly atmosphere for clients; and

 - $10,115 to Rising Sun/Ohio County Community School Corporation toward the purchase and installation of a backflow preventer.

Grant applications for the next grants cycle are due Monday, October 15, 2018 by 4:00pm. Applications can be downloaded from the RSRF website at www.rsrfonline.org, and can be emailed to risingsunregionalfoundation@gmail.com.

The Rising Sun Regional Foundation was created in 1994 by the City of Rising Sun, and is now funded by the Rising Star Casino Resort, owned by Full House Resorts, Inc., which makes monthly contributions to the foundation based on a percentage of its Adjusted Gross Revenue. To date, the foundation has received more than $43 million in riverboat funds, of which at least 75% has been granted back to the community.
