(Holton, Ind.) - The Ripley County Community Foundation is pleased to announce that it has awarded $5,000 in grants to support community initiatives in the unincorporated town of Cross Plains.

Established in 2005 by the State of Indiana, the Cross Plains Endowment Fund was created to promote economic development and improve the quality of life for Cross Plains residents. Its core purpose is to create a long-term sustainable source of funding for this unincorporated area, which in turn eases the tax burden for Ripley County residents while continuing to enrich the quality of life for the community. Each year, a committee of Cross Plains residents review grant applications and selects projects that demonstrate a clear need and will have a significant impact on the community.

“This grant opportunity highlights the crucial role that unincorporated communities like Cross Plains play in our county,” said Amy Streator, Executive Director, Ripley County Community Foundation. “Supporting these areas is essential for maintaining our unique rural heritage and ensuring that all residents, no matter where they live, have access to resources that improve their quality of life. We are proud to invest in the future of Cross Plains.”
