(Versailles, Ind.) – Demolition efforts are underway in Versailles.
Raider Gas is being removed to make way for a new greenspace.
The Town of Versailles acquired the former gas station in February following the awarding of a $358,600 Blight Clearance Grant from the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs.
Rising Sun Regional Foundation also aided the blight clearance project by granting $40,000 to the Town of Versailles.
Motorists are advised to use caution in the area and be on the lookout for road closure signage.
“We are so appreciative of the support to remedy this environmental and public health and safety concern, and clean-up this corner,” reads a Facebook post from the Town of Versailles.
