Purple Heart Monument Dedication Ceremony Set for September 2

(St. Leon, Ind.) - A special dedication ceremony will be held Labor Day weekend at the site of a new Purple Heart monument. 

The monument, which honors all Purple Heart recipients, can be found at the St. Joseph American Legion Post 464. 

Work to erect the monument started this past spring, and the finishing touches were completed last week. 

Now members of the St. Joseph American Legion Post 464 are ready to show of the monument to the public. A special dedication ceremony will be held on Saturday, September 2 starting at 2:00 p.m.

The event is open to the public and free to attend. Refreshments will be available. 

Purple Heart bricks will be available for $40 per brick. Local residents and non-residents are welcome to purchase a brick engraver.
