Professional Cyclists Roll Into Lawrenceburg July 15 for Annual Whiskey City Challenge

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – With Tastes of Summer in the books, the City of Lawrenceburg is looking forward to its next big event.

The Whiskey City Challenge returns to downtown Lawrenceburg on Saturday, July 15.

The event will feature 12 hi-speed professional cycling races, local food options, music, cornhole tournament, celebrity tricycle race and skateboard jump jam.

Led by the Lawrenceburg Police Motor Patrol, the professional cyclists will race around a .65-mile course with four hairpin turns. Competitors will be divided by men, women, and junior classes.

The Whiskey City Challenge is a rain or shine event with races starting at 1:00 p.m. The last competitive race will begin at 9:00 p.m. under the lights.

Attendees will find the start/finish line at 135 W. High Street.

The Whiskey City Challenge cornhole tournament features free registration from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in front of Strong’s Pizza on Walnut Street. Competitors must be present for the random team bracket draw at 12:30. First place will receive $200, and second place gets $100.

Other festivities include the celebrity tricycle race at 5:15 and the skateboard jump jam between 1:00 and 7:00 between Center and William streets.
