Florence Man Charged with Attempted Murder

The charge stems from a shooting incident on Wednesday night.

(Florence, Ky.) - Florence Police responded to the 160 block of Raintree Road on Wednesday night for a report of a domestic dispute. 

As officers were en route to the address, 911 operators heard shots fired over the phone and the caller reported being shot. Upon arrival, officers made entry into the residence and encountered two victims suffering from gunshot wounds to their lower body.

They also encountered the suspected perpetrator, Gregory Gant, 57, and immediately detained him. 

The victims were ground transported to UC Medical Center and are listed in stable condition. Gant was transported to St. Elizabeth Florence with a minor injury.

Through their investigation, the Florence Police Department’s Detective Unit was able to determine that during the domestic dispute Gant produced a handgun and shot both adult victims. He is charged with two counts of Attempted Murder and one count of Strangulation.
