UPDATE: State Road 48 Reopens After Repairs Made to Downed Wires

According to Dearborn County Dispatch, Duke Energy has completed repairs and State Road 48 has reopened.

Original story published Friday, August 7, 2026 at 10:22 AM:

(Aurora, Ind.) - A portion of State Road 48 is closed until further notice.

According to Dearborn County Dispatch, State Road 48 is closed at Kaiser Road due to downed wires.

Dispatch could not confirm the cause of the downed wires.

Traffic is the immediate area is being diverted onto Kaiser Drive. Traffic controls are also being setup at the intersection of State Road 48 and State Road 148.

Duke Energy is in route to the scene.
