Owner Tows Vehicle Away From Traffic, Residence After Car Catches on Fire

The incident took place on Saturday morning in Dillsboro.

(Dillsboro, Ind.) - Multiple agencies responded to a vehicle fire on Saturday morning in Dillsboro. 

According to Friendship Volunteer Fire Department, a red convertible was located fully involved around 11:18 a.m. in the 7000 block of Farmers Retreat Road. 

The vehicle was located in a field after the owner had the presence of mind to tow the vehicle away from other cars and a nearby residence when he determined he could not extinguish the blaze. 

A cause of the fire remains under investigation. 

No injuries were reported. 

Friendship Volunteer Fire Department was assisted at the scene by Dillsboro Volunteer Fire Department, Dearborn County Sheriff's Office and Aurora Emergency Rescue Unit.
