NKY Middle School Student Charged With Terroristic Threatening

Boone County Sheriff's deputies say a threat was made against students and teachers at Jones Middle School in Florence.

(Florence, Ky.) – A Jones Middle School student has been arrested for allegedly making a threat towards another student.

According to the Boone County Sheriff’s Office, a 13-year-old male student told another student he was going to “shoot up the school with guns” and that his targets were going to be the “popular kids and teachers”.

Upon learning of the threat on November 16, deputies responded quickly and promptly made contact with the teenager at his home.

The teen allegedly gave deputies a full confession, stating that his plan was delayed until he could obtain a bulletproof vest.

Deputies added that the student did not have immediate access to weapons or body armor.

The juvenile is charged with Terroristic Threatening (Class D Felony).

He is lodged at the Campbell County Juvenile Detention Center.
