(Boone County, Ky.) - Today, the Boone County Sheriff's Office received a report of a physical child abuse involving a father and his three-month-old daughter.
According to the Sheriff's Office, multiple instances of abuse were captured on camera and provided to deputies by an out of state family member, who became aware of the abuse through the child’s mother, Webb’s wife. The investigation led to the father’s arrest on multiple felony counts.
Shaun Webb, 36, of Walton, Kentucky, is charged with 10 counts of Criminal Abuse 1st Degree (Class B Felony)
The reported abuse occurred on August 19 inside Webb’s home. Detectives noted that Webb’s two-year-old son was present in the living room during the recorded incidents.
During interrogation, Webb admitted to suffocating his son on four occasions up until he was nine months old.
During his interview, Webb stated that children are “like a dog, you have to train them and set boundaries.” Regarding his daughter’s crying, he said it “triggers me, like nails on a chalkboard,” and that he covered her mouth and nose “not to cause harm, but to deprive her of oxygen” because it was an “action to train the behavior.”
At the conclusion of his interview, Webb was placed under arrest and transported to the Boone County Jail. No bond has been set.
