(Milan, Ind.) - Milan Community Schools has a new athletic director.
The school board approved the hiring of Susie Fidler at their May 15 meeting.
Fidler, an Indiana native, has spent her entire career in education and sports through teaching, coaching, and as an athletic director, most recently at Muncie Burris.
After graduating from Cloverdale High School, Fidler attended Indiana State University, where she earned many degrees including Bachelor of Science in Math Education, Masters of Science in Recreation and Sports Management, and Masters of Education in School Administration and Supervision.
Fidler will officially take over the athletic director position at Milan on July 1. She takes over for John Prifogle, who will become the intermediate/middle school principal on July 1.
Prifogle served as athletic director for 14 years.
Fidler will oversee 19 sports for students in grades 6-12.
“Milan is proud that we are a small school with big opportunities for our student athletes,” commented Superintendent Jane Rogers. “We are excited to welcome Susie Fidler to our community.”
