(Milan, Ind.) - A woman ran to get help after she and her husband were hurt in a motorcycle crash in Ripley County Wednesday evening.
Yatzie Roysden and his wife Susan, of Milan, were riding their motorcycle on County Road 500 North at County Road 900 East when they approached a turn and ran off the roadway at about 5:00 p.m.
Both of the riders were hurt, but Yatzie, 49, more seriously than Susan, 46. She walked to a nearby residence to call for help.
When Ripley County Sheriff's deputies arrived in scene, they found Yatzie laying on the ground complaining of back pain. He was taken by Milan Rescue 30 to a nearby landing zone where a medical helicopter transferred him to University Hospital in Cincinnati.
Susan Roysden had been complaining of pain to her shoulder and leg. She was transported to Margaret Mary Community Hospital in Batesville for treatment.
Deputies said neither of the riders were not wearing helmets. Speed was not a factor.
The accident remains under investigation.
