Main Street Aurora Celebrates A Successful Year

A dinner was held on Thursday, November 14, at the Livery Reception Hall.

(Aurora, Ind.) – Main Street Aurora celebrated a wonderful year with their annual dinner for members at the Livery Reception Hall in Aurora last Thursday, November 14.

They hosted over 50 individuals from many different businesses and organizations in Aurora.

Dinner was sponsored by Civista Bank and was catered by The Sweetest Thing Catering.

Executive Director, Nancy Turner, had the opportunity to thank all the members for their hard work and dedication throughout the year.

In 2019, Main Street Aurora played an instrumental role in coordinating and supporting many events celebrating Aurora’s 200th Bicentennial Celebration.

Over 3,000 volunteer hours ensured a successful Bicentennial Celebration including the Aurora-Opoly Board Game, the Bicentennial Pictorial History Book, and many other souvenirs to mark the city’s milestone, and also the very popular T-Shirts and Sweatshirts that were designed by Main Street Board Member Kerri Ohlmansiek.

Main Street Aurora highlighted events from the prior year such as the Hillforest Pioneer Day, the arrival of the Aurora Beautification Committee and Aurora Garden Club LST, and numerous events with the Aurora Lion’s Club, making special note of the upcoming 16th Annual Miracle on Main Street which is a popular Christmas celebration.

Mayor Donnie Hastings spoke about the history of Aurora Main Street and recognized Nancy for all the work she has done.

Businesses and organizations in attendance were People’s Federal Community Foundation, Art Angel’s, Edward Jones, Personally Yours Gift & Floral Shop, Great Crescent Brewery and the Aurora High School Museum.

This event has become an annual tradition for the organization to thank members, highlight the past year’s success, and to look forward for the upcoming year.
