(Aurora, Ind.) – A longtime South Dearborn Community School Corporation employee is set to retire after nearly four decades of service.

An open house will be held at Manchester Elementary School on Wednesday, September 18 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. to celebrate Judy March’s 38-year career.

March began working at Manchester Elementary School in 1986 when then-Principal Ron Jenks invited her to work as a third-grade teacher’s aide.

Over the course of her career, March would work in first grade and remedial reading, write and publish the school's weekly newsletter, coach volleyball, and assist in the resource room before ultimately working in the office as a secretary or treasurer.

Prior to working at MES, March enjoyed eight years there as a student and nine years as a parent involved in the school’s PTO.

"I am grateful for the administration, the staff, the parents, the students, and the community for their kindness and well wishes. The home of the Shiners has given me a lifetime of memories and friendships, and I wish the school all the best as they continue to provide a challenging and enriching learning environment for future generations to come," said March.
