(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – An Aurora man who served his country in World War II has been honored with a Quilt of Valor.
Bob Ernsting was the recipient of a beautiful quilt made by the Rivertown Quilters Club during a special presentation at Ridgewood Health Campus in Lawrenceburg on Sunday.
Ernsting, surrounded by several family members, received the quilt to honor his faithful and dedicated service as a World War II United States Marine.
The event also featured P.G. Gentrup, Jerry Bondurant and Ron Spurlock as guest speakers. The trio spoke about how important World War II veterans were in giving us the many freedoms we enjoy today.
Gentrup also spoke to the dwindling number of living World War II veterans and the importance of honoring their sacrifices and sharing their stories for future generations.
