(Greendale, Ind.) - Police officers from Greendale, Batesville and West Harrison were among 50 Indiana law enforcement agencies to participate in this year's Cop on a Rooftop event.
The fundraiser took place last Friday at area Dunkin' locations in effort to raise funds for Special Olympics Indiana.
Individuals who donated to Cop on a Rooftop received a coupon for a free donut. Those who donated $10 or more received a coupon for a free medium hot coffee.
Greendale Police were able to help raise $1,568.30, while Batesville Police raised over $2,000. Fundraising totals from West Harrison Police have not been released.
The thousands of dollars raised will support Special Olympic athletes in southeastern Indiana.
"We are beyond grateful for everyone who stopped by, donated, honked, waved, shared a smile, or helped spread the word in Greendale, Batesville, and St. Leon/West Harrison. Your support means the world to our athletes and helps create more opportunities for inclusion, competition, and success through Special Olympics Indiana," said Greg Townsend, Regional Manager of Special Olympics Indiana.
