Local Authorities Respond to Incident on 5th Street in Aurora

The Dearborn Co. Coroner's Office released a statement regarding the incident.

(Aurora, Ind.) - An investigation is underway following an incident on 5th Street in Aurora. 

According to the Dearborn County Coroner's Office, preliminary findings show an individual suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound on Tuesday around 12:55 p.m.

"I have seen some posts circulating on social media regarding this incident that have contained some misinformation, so I wanted to clarify the situation," said Coroner Cameron McCreary.

No further information has been provided at this time.
