Lawrenceburg, South Dearborn Students Are First To Go Back To School Wednesday

It's the first day of school for students in two local school districts.

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - Days at the pool, working a summer job, and homework-free nights are coming to an end as students head back to school in Eagle Country.

A few local school districts are welcoming students for the first day of school Wednesday. They include South Dearborn Community Schools and Lawrenceburg Community Schools.

Lawrenceburg Community Schools superintendent Karl Galey is reminding motorists to watch out for school buses back on the road.

South Dearborn schools are under the leadership of a new superintendent this year. Former football coach, elementary principal, and assistant superintendent Eric Lows has replaced John Mehrle as the district's top administrator.

Both Lawrenceburg and South Dearborn schools will be more secure from threats as students return. Both districts have hired and added new school resource officers.
