BEIJING – A Lawrenceburg native was a part of a trio of Americans who won gold on Thursday.
Justin Schoenefeld made his debut in the Winter Olympics alongside his girlfriend, Ashley Caldwell, and Christopher Lillis in the Olympics’ inaugural mixed team aerials event.
The U.S. team held off China and Canada to win Gold.

- China: 324.22
- Canada: 290.98
Schoenefeld came up big landing a Back Double Full-Full-Full jump.
The U.S. hadn’t medaled in aerials since 2010.
