(Rising Sun, Ind.) – Ohio County has lost another beloved member of the community.

Jerry W. Bondurant passed away Wednesday at the age of 78.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Veterans Memorial at the Ohio River in Rising Sun on Saturday, March 13 at 11:00 a.m. Jerry’s good friend P.G. Gentrup will officiate the service.

Special services include a Masonic Service and a Military Service conducted by the Rising Sun Color Guard and the Southeastern Indiana Honor Guard.

Bondurant's death comes just days after Gerald “Bush” White’s passing.

Like White, Bondurant served his country and was a member of the United States 101st Army Airborne Division- Screaming Eagles during the Vietnam War.

Bondurant was a proud Patriotic man, who was a member of the Rising Sun American Legion, Rising Sun Color Guard, and other similar groups.

He was also a family man.

Jerry and Barbara Bondurant were married almost 42 years at the time of his passing. Together, they had five daughters and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In his spare time, Bondurant enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sporting events and school programs. He also enjoyed golfing and karaoke.

Bondurant made his living as a Still Operator for Seagrams, where he served for over 40 years.

Contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the Southeastern Indiana Honor Guard, VVA Chapter #71, or the Rising Sun Color Guard.
