Investigation Underway After Person Shot Near Versailles

No arrests have been made at this time.

(Versailles, Ind.) – A shooting is under investigation in Ripley County.

Indiana State Police and Ripley County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a home on West County Road 700 South near Versailles on Monday around 4:30 p.m.

Upon arrival, police located a 24-year-old male suffering a gunshot wound to his lower body. The victim was transported to King’s Daughters Hospital in Madison before being transferred to a Louisville area hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

No arrests have been made at this time.

Indiana State Police are leading the investigation.
