(Aurora, Ind.) - An investigation is underway after an Aurora woman was found dead in her home.

Dearborn County Sheriff's deputies, along with Aurora and Lawrenceburg EMS, responded to a home on State Road 148 last Wednesday for a female that was found unconscious and not breathing by a family member.

Upon arriving at the scene, the female, Debra Hill, 67, was determined to be deceased.

After the initial investigation and the autopsy were concluded, Hill's death was ruled a homicide.

The Sheriff's Office doesn't believe there is any immediate danger to the residents in the area, but homeowners are encouraged to keep their doors locked and remain vigilant while the investigation continues.

Anyone with information regarding the case should contact the Dearborn County Sheriff's Office at 812-537-3431 and ask to speak with Detective Gena Allen.
