Hillforest is celebrating its 170th anniversary this year.

(Aurora, Ind.) - Hillforest House Museum will be opening to the public for the 2025 season on April 1.
Visitors are invited to step back in time and explore the beauty and history of this beloved 19th-century landmark, which is celebrating its 170th anniversary this year.
Hillforest will be open for tours Tuesday through Friday from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM and Saturday and Sunday from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. The museum remains closed on Mondays.
“We are excited to welcome guests for another season filled with fascinating tours, special events, and memorable moments,” said Andrew Young, Director. “This milestone year is a testament to the enduring legacy of Hillforest, and we can’t wait to share its history with visitors of all ages.”
Hillforest House Museum will host a series of special events and programs throughout the year, offering unique experiences that highlight the rich history and architectural beauty of the estate. These events include their famous tea parties, Holiday events, an Open House, and much more.
Hillforest, a National Historic Landmark, is renowned for its elegant Italian Renaissance-style architecture and deep historical significance. Built in 1855, the home has captivated visitors for generations, providing a glimpse into the lives of the Gaff family and 19th-century society.
