Harrison Junior School Evacuates Due to Odor of Smoke

All students and staff have returned to the building after a thorough investigation by area firefighters.

(Harrison, Oh.) – Harrison Junior School was evacuated Tuesday morning out of an abundance of caution.

The school was evacuated just after 10:00 a.m. due to reports of the odor of smoke in the building. School officials say the fire alarms did not activate, but the decision was made to evacuate the building as a precaution.

Students were relocated indoors at Miami Whitewater Elementary and Harrison High School.

All students and staff returned to Harrison Junior School after a thorough investigation by the Harrison Fire Department and Whitewater Township Fire Department.

It was determined that the odor of smoke was environmental and originated off campus.

No students or staff were harmed.
