Hamilton Co. Teen Killed In Franklin Co. Crash

The crash happened Monday afternoon on Oxford Pike.

(Franklin County, Ind.) - A Hamilton County teen has been identified as the victim of a deadly crash in Franklin County.

Indiana State Police responded to the crash on Oxford Pike at Dorrel Road around 2:00 p.m. on December 30.

Police say Zachary Ferneding, 18, of Hamilton County, was traveling eastbound when he lost control and his vehicle went off the roadway and rolled into trees.

Ferneding was ejected from the vehicle. He was airlifted to UC Medical Center with serious injuries.

Bryce L. Hitzer, 15, of Hamilton County, sustained fatal injuries in the crash. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Three other passengers, aged between 15 and 16, sustained serious injuries in the crash. All three were transported to Cincinnati area hospitals for treatment.

Alcohol and drugs are not believed to be factors at this time. However, toxicology results are pending.
