Gregg: Right To Work Will Be Repealed

John Gregg

(Indianapolis, Ind.) - Democrat John Gregg says if he is elected governor of Indiana, the new right to work law will be repealed.

The former Indiana House Speaker made multiple campaign stops in Indianapolis on Tuesday. Gregg told the Baptist Ministers' Alliance of Indianapolis that he predicts the law will be repealed, although he didn’t say when that would happen, WRTV-TV reported.

He said any new jobs the law would bring to Indiana wouldn’t pay very well.

Gregg credited labor unions for helping bring about benefits for all workers.

"We forget that we have a 40-hour work week because of organized labor. We have vacations because of organized labor, a safe workplace because of organized labor. We have unemployment compensation and worker's compensation,” Gregg said.

Gregg has no opposition in the May 8 primary election. He will likely face Republican Congressman Mike Pence, who is also without primary competition, in the November general election.
