The new workforce training initiative grows opportunities from within.

INDIANAPOLIS - This week, Indiana Governor Mike Braun launched Power Up Indiana, a new initiative supported by the Office of Commerce incentivizing employers to invest within by training and promoting current jobholders.

“Power Up Indiana targets incentives to established Hoosier businesses and workers,” said Gov. Braun. “We are growing employees’ paychecks while strengthening Indiana companies.

Power Up Indiana is designed to reward and scale employer-led solutions developing internal talent pipelines. This encourages employers to offer employees training to build skills to match high value, high paying jobs.

The program is open to businesses of all sizes, from manufacturers and healthcare providers to logistics firms and Main Street employers.

“This is how we reward leadership, raise wages, and make Indiana more competitive—one worker at a time,” said Indiana Secretary of Commerce David Adams. “This program marks a significant step toward a more competitive, future ready workforce.”
