Four Stolen Vehicles Recovered, Five Arrested in NKY

The arrests were made on Saturday at a home on Hollywood Drive.

(Florence, Ky.) - Five people are facing charges in connection to multiple stolen vehicles in northern Kentucky. 

Kamron Rechtin, 19, of Florence, Mohamed Ali Abokor, 26, of Hebron, and three juveniles were taken into custody on Saturday. Each are facing various charges for their alleged role for vehicle theft. 

Florence Police responded Friday afternoon to the Crown Point Apartments in reference to a possible stolen vehicle. At the apartment complex, police located a blue Hyundai bearing a temporary Kentucky registration plate that did not belong to the vehicle, which had also been reported stolen. 

The following day Florence Police responded to Hollywood Drive in reference to another stolen vehicle. Upon arrival, officers observed a silver KIA Rio parked on the street. It was determined that the vehicle was stolen on October 14, according to Covington Police. The KIA was bearing temporary Kentucky registration that did not belong to the vehicle. 

Both vehicles were towed to Florence Police Department. 

Through the investigations, detectives found reason to believe the two stolen vehicles were related. 

Officers returned back to Hollywood Drive to observe for any activity related to the stolen vehicles. At that time, a red Hyundai Elantra with a registration plate belonging to the stolen silver KIA was observed. While investigation this stolen vehicle, officers observed a black Hyundai Veloster drive down Hollywood Drive and park at a residence. The black Hyundai belonged to a car dealership in Florence that had not yet realized it was missing from their lot. 

Officers went to the residence and spoke to the homeowner, who allowed the officers to enter and speak with the five individuals inside. One of the individuals attempted to flee the residence through a back window. The subject and the additional four subjects were detained in connection with the stolen vehicles.

The three juveniles involved were transported to Campbell County Juvenile Detention Center. One juvenile was charged with Receiving Stolen Property $10,000 or more, Receiving Stolen Property, No Operator’s License, and Possession of Marijuana. The other two juveniles were each charged with Receiving Stolen Property $10,000 or more.
