(Indianapolis, Ind.) - A former Democratic lawmaker has been reappointed to a statewide board by Republican Governor Mike Pence. On Monday, Pence reappointed former state representative Bob Bischoff to a four-year term on the Indiana State Commission on Aging. His term will run through November 15, 2020. The Commission on Aging assists the Division of Aging by encouraging the study and discussion of the needs of the older adults in Indiana and helping the division develop comprehensive plans to meet those needs. Bischoff was first appointed to the commission in 2012 by then-Governor Mitch Daniels. In 2014, he was elected the commission’s chairman. The Democrat from Greendale previously served as one of southeast Indiana’s state representatives in Indianapolis from 1980 until 2010. He was elected to the Indiana Senate from 1977 through 1978.
