Former Addyston Police Chief Receives Sentence Wednesday

Dorian LaCourse has pleaded guilty to three charges in an illegal machine gun sales scheme.

(Addyston, Oh.) – Former Addyston Police Chief Dorian LaCourse is scheduled for sentencing this week.

LaCourse pleaded guilty in February to one count of conspiracy and two counts of making false statements in an illegal machine gun sales scheme.

In exchange for his guilty plea, several charges were dropped.

According to court documents, LaCourse knowingly and willingly combined, conspired and agreed to acquire machine guns by means of fraud and false statements and representations to re-sell the weapons for profit. Co-conspirators Jonathan Marcum, of Laurel, and Christopher Petty, of Lawrenceburg, have also pleaded guilty in the case. 

Federal prosecutors have recommended a sentence of 70 months in jail followed by two years of supervised release.

LaCourse is scheduled for sentencing on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m.
