(Florence, Ky.) – A Florence woman has been arrested on child and sexual abuse charges.

Jessica R. Ahlbrand, 22, was arrested Wednesday and charged with Sexual Abuse 1st Degree, Victim Under 12 Years of Age (Class C Felony), and Criminal Abuse 2nd Degree, Child 12 or Under (Class D Felony).

The charges stem from a May 10 video chat between Ahlbrand and her incarcerated boyfriend. Investigators say Ahlbrand insinuated that their 18-month-old child had consumed the “snacks”.

The snacks mentioned are believed to have contained THC, according to the Boone County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies then observed Ahlbrand and her boyfriend laughing at several photos where the child appeared to be under the influence and incoherent.

During the same video chat, Ahlbrand allegedly performed sexual acts on herself while the child was nearby. She is accused of similar actions during another video chat on May 15.

Ahlbrand is held in the Boone County Detention Center on $250,000 cash bond.

Upon her arrest, the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services took the child into custody.
