Five Years Later, Still No Trace Of Paige Johnson

By Mike Perleberg Paige Johnson, then 17, was declared missing on September 23, 2010. (Florence, Ky.) - Five years ago Wednesday, Paige Johnson disappeared without a trace. The 17-year-old Florence mother was reported missing on September 23, 2010. Friends and relatives of Johnson will gather at Devou Park Wednesday evening for a vigil and tree dedication in her memory. Covington Police say they won't close the Paige Johnson case until she's found. Telephone records and tips provided investigators with a few leads on the young mother's whereabouts, but Johnson remains missing. Investigators are renewing their call for information in the case in hope someone is finally willing to share what they know. The last person known to be with Johnson, Jacob Bumpass, was questioned in connection with her disappearance, but has never been charged. Bumpass, of Taylor Mill, told investigators he picked up Johnson at her home on September 22 and dropped Johnson off at a street corner in downtown Covington around 1:00 a.m. the next morning. However, cell phone records placed him near Johnson’s home in Florence that morning. Bumpass' home was searched following Johnson's disappearance. He was found to be in violation of his parole and was sent back to prison until 2012. Johnson’s mother, Donna Johnson, is raising her daughter, Kenzie. The mother had her daughter declared deceased in 2011.
