(Friendship, Ind.) - Friendship Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire on Sunday afternoon.

A chimney fire broke out at a residence in the 5000 East block of State Road 62 around 2:00 p.m.

Upon arrival, the fire in the stove was removed and the flue was checked and opened up. Firefighters say the liner in the chimney had failed and blocked the flue causing the back-up.

The stove was removed from service, and the owner was advised to have the chimney repaired prior to use.

Only light smoke damage was done, and no injuries were reported.
