Fire Breaks Out at Future Publix Location in Union

(Union, Ky.) - Firefighters were dispatched to a Publix construction site on Thursday morning. 

A tar machine reportedly caught on fire at the grocery store's future location at the intersection of U.S. 42 and Farmview Drive in Union. 

The fire, which was reported around 11:00 a.m., sent a large amount of black smoke into the air. The fire was extinguished after a quick response from area firefighters. 

No injuries were reported. 

An opening date for the Union Publix has yet to be announced.
