EC FFA Has Good Showing at Soils Evaluation Career Development Event

(St. Leon, Ind.) - Eleven members of the East Central FFA Chapter recently competed in the Area 1 Soils Evaluation Career Development Event. 

East Central FFA was among 17 teams from southeastern Indiana that entered the event on Saint Peter's Road in Franklin County. Teams had to use knowledge of soils to evaluate the physical characteristics of a total of four sites. 

Two sites were evaluated on their agricultural capabilities, while the other two were evaluated on their ability to be used as a site for residential homes. 

East Central's senior level high school team placed 9th. Team members included Isabelle Leurck, Kody Schilling, Jasmin Keith, and Shelby Dawson. Savannah Weber competed as an individual. 

East Central’s top middle school team placed 2nd. Team members included Brianna Inman, Lane Stevens and Ashton Bruns. Other middle school members competing included Noah Lewis, Chase Leurck and Evan Burdette .
