East Central FFA Duo Qualifies for State Welding Competition

(St. Leon, Ind.) – Two East Central FFA members have qualified for the state welding competition.

Lloyd Darringer and Isaac Hartman competed at the District 12 FFA Welding Career Development event on December 17 at Ivy Tech Community College in Madison.

Each completed a general knowledge exam and used the Shielded Metal Arc Welding process to complete a series of welds for scoring.

Darringer and Hartman placed first in the beginner division for freshman and sophomores.

They are now eligible to compete at the state competition in Indianapolis on January 28.
