East Central FFA Celebrates Strong Performance At Livestock Skillathon

One team did so well, they are advancing on to the state competition.

(St. Leon, Ind.) – East Central High School’s FFA Chapter is celebrating a strong performance at the Area 1 Livestock Skillathon.

The event was held at South Ripley High School on September 5.

East Central FFA had 17 members compete, including the senior team of Madison Shumate, Maddie Dawson, Heath Doll and Amelia Hartman, who placed third and will be moving on to the state contest.

The team of Bradley Kolb, Lydia Kidd, Evan Kuhn and Adrien King placed fifth, while Madison McAdams, Jacob Kuhn and Rachel Kraus teamed up to finish sixth.

The junior team of Lloyd Darringer, Issac Hartman, John Kathman and Gavin Klingman placed third.

Maddie Dawson was the top placing individual, finishing fourth overall in the senior division. Troy Randolph also had a strong showing as an individual.

Following a great overall performance at the Area 1 Livestock Skillathon, 29 FFA members attended the District XII Kickoff at South Ripley High School on Tuesday.

Two chapter officers fulfilled their duties as district officers. They also had a chance to meet other members in their district, as well as state officers.
