The grants support local projects designed to support tourism and enhance the visitor experience in Dearborn County.
(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - The Dearborn County Convention, Visitor & Tourism Bureau (CVTB) has awarded six tourism grants to local organizations for projects designed to support tourism and enhance the visitor experience in Dearborn County.
The grants are part of the CVTB’s ongoing efforts to partner with local organizations on projects and initiatives that encourage visitation, strengthen local attractions and events, and contribute to the area’s overall tourism economy.
“We’re pleased to support these six projects and the organizations working to make them happen,” said Jeff Blom, President of the Dearborn County CVTB. “Our tourism grant program allows us to partner on projects that provide new or enhanced experiences for visitors while also benefiting the community.”
The following organizations received funding:
- Aurora Marketplace – $2,500 to go towards “Believe in the Magic of Christmas,” a holiday walking tour in Gabbard Riverfront Park featuring a gingerbread village, decorated trees, lighted displays and more.
- City of Aurora – $10,000 to go towards the lighting of the George Street Bridge at the entrance to Downtown Aurora.
- Faith Walkers, Inc. – $2,500 to go towards hosting a brand-new two-day Steam Punk Festival at Gabbard Riverfront Park in Downtown Aurora.
- Hillforest Victorian House Museum – $300 to go towards Hillforest’s “Founders Night” event supporting museum operations and programming.
- Lawrenceburg Speedway (Promoted by STM Motorsports, Inc.) – $10,000 to go towards hosting the USAC National Sprint Car Race.
- Tri-State Trails – $761 to go towards the repair of the Dearborn Trail monitoring counter, a mechanism enabling trail organizers to track the number of visitors to the multi-use hiking and biking trail.
“We are thankful for the partnership with DCCVTB to make the Steam Punk Festival free for our community,” said Madison Jarvis, Executive Director of Faith Walkers, Inc. “Our goals for this event were to make connections in our community while also bringing new people to our area and have them return in the future. A total of $26,061 was awarded through the latest round of tourism grants.
