Dumpsters, Grants Available To L'burg Residents

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – Lawrenceburg residents planning some heavy duty Spring cleaning can get some help from the City of Lawrenceburg.

The city has designated April as Clean Up Month. As a service to resident homeowners, the city is offering to provide three or six yard dumpsters to residents for a period of three days during the month of April.

The dumpsters are loaned out on a first come, first served basis. Only one dumpster will be allowed per residence.

Anybody who would like to order a dumpster or need more information about the dumpster program can call the city garage at (812) 537-7138.

The dumpsters are not the only service being offered to city residents. Homeowners can get financial help in upgrading their houses.

The city will host two public meetings on Thursday, April 12 to detail its home improvement grant program. The meetings start at noon and 6:00 p.m. at City Hall, 230 Walnut Street.

Some residents who meet certain income guidelines are eligible for the grants which can be used for new roofing, windows, and other improvements.

Questions about the grant program can be answered at Thursday's meetings.
